Probiotics do more than keep the digestive system healthy. Multiple studies have also shown that these live microorganisms also may help reduce depression, promote heart health, and perhaps lead to better skin. Not all probiotics come from supplements, however. Here’s a meal recipe that is packed full of probiotic ingredients.
1/2 cup avocado oil or olive oil
1/4 cup orange juice
2 tbsp cider vinegar
1 1/4-inch nub fresh ginger peeled
1 small clove garlic peeled
sea salt to taste
2 cups of cooked brown rice
1/2 cup of cauliflower (diced)
2 cups of dandelion greens
1/2 cup of chopped walnuts
1 cup of sauerkraut
1 filet of (cooked) salmon
1. In a blender, mix all vinaigrette ingredients and blend until smooth. Refrigerate until ready to use.
2. Place cooked rice at the bottom of bowl. Layer with cauliflower, greens, sauerkraut and walnuts to your liking. Top with salmon filet. Pour as much vinaigrette as you like on top.
