Usually after a colonoscopy procedure, patients are given a little bit juice and some crackers to get the GI system working again. Most of us take the snacks begrudgingly. However, Chicago area GI specialist Tara Troy, MD, approaches the post-colonoscopy routine differently. At the end of the procedure, she opts to give patients freshly made, prebiotic smoothies like this one below! If you’d like to hear more about Dr. Troy’s unique practice, read up on the topic in IBS Life’s Feature section.
